Welcome to Joe's Christian Page! This page is all about Christianity and Gods involvement in my life!

I hope this page is a witness to non-believers and an encouragement to believers. Come back often to see updates and new quotes! Enjoy reading about the only thing that really matters in life!

Praise God for what he has done in my life. He is giving me everything that I need, and is answering many prayers. Yes, I have gone through MANY struggles! Wow, 1999 was probably the biggest struggle of my life, from friendships, to my relationship with God, to Young Life, to school, and more; God has provided through it all, and has worked it all out for the good. Like the Bible says, "All things work for the good of those who believe."

Do you have a story to tell?? E-mail it to me, and if you want, I can post it! I'd love to hear how God is moving in your life

My Testimony

My sister, Wendy Polek (CP site designer, now WILLARD), was a camper at a Christian summer camp in Maine call Chop Point, in the late 80's and early 90's, she had heard about it from a French exchange student that we had, who went to Chop Point, before she came to our house one summer. In 1990, my family went to Chop Point to visit her there. It was half-way through the 2nd session, and I stayed in (the cabin) Acadia for the weekend, while we were there. The day we were going to leave, the one boys counselor in Acadia, went to my mom and said, "Joe seems to be having a blast, and we'd love to have him stay". So we went to Freeport, bought me some clothes, and I stayed the rest of the session. I then came back as a camper in 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, and 1995; I took 1996 off, and was a counselor in 1997 and 1998. In 1996, my sister Wendy was married to Wyeth Willard, son of Camp owners, Jean and Peter Willard. So CP is practically my second home.
A parallel story to go along with that is this. When I was a junior in High School, I was on the Volleyball Team. A buddy of mine, Matt Linz, asked me to come with him, one day during practice, to this thing called Young Life. I said, "okay, only if you pick me up." So he did, and it changed my life! I went to Young Life Campaigners that night, and walked in the most welcoming room of kids my age that I've ever come acrossed; and I knew most of them! We sat down, and started singing some songs. Right away, I recognized them!! They were songs that I had heard at Chop Point, all those summers before!! It was all coming back to me! The warm, comfortable feelings that I had being at Chop Point was happening all over again, right there in that room!
The next weekend, they were going Summit Lake, a camp in Western Maryland for a weekend trip! I signed up, and went!! The weekend changed my life forever!! Bill Paige was the speaker on that weekend, filled with basketball, snow, paintball, fun with friends, great food, and something that was really missing in my life....Jesus Christ!! That all changed that weekend! Saturday night, we were given 15 minutes, to go out, in the freezing cold, snowy weather, and just think about what we had been hearing all weekend. I talked a little with my buddy and leader, Shawn Candon, and after that, I gave my life to Christ!! My life has never been the same since.
I use to want to be in Radio to play some great Country songs and have fun playing music. But now I know why I'm hear on earth. Not just to talk on the radio, and announce songs, but to tell EVERYONE about Jesus Christ, and the wonderful things that he has in store for each one of us. I really want to be in the ministry for the rest of my time on earth!
I just finished up my first semester of my junior year at Messiah College in Harrisburg, PA. I transfered here from Harford Community College in Maryland, after 2 years there. I lost 1 semester in the transfer. I got involved in a national Christian organization for high school kids called YOUNG LIFE, my junior year in High School, and am now a Volunteer Leader with YL for the 3rd year. This summer, I am serving at Chop Point as a camp counselor and taking kids to a Young Life camp for a week.
It's an amazing place! My sister, brother-in-law, and Niece moved to Maine (about 3 miles from CP) last year and Wendy is doing unbelievable work with her business Willardesigns. And I have a feeling that after I graduate from Messiah in December of 2001, I will be moving up there to Maine also.
